Upper GI Endoscopy (UGIE) or Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

A diagnostic procedure to visualize and evaluate the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum for abnormalities or diseases.

Endoscopic Variceal Ligation (EVL)

A treatment to prevent bleeding from esophageal varices by tying them off with rubber bands using an endoscope.

Endoscopic Sclerotherapy (EST)

A procedure to treat bleeding varices by injecting a sclerosing agent into them, causing them to shrink and clot.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)

A method of placing a feeding tube directly into the stomach through the abdominal wall using an endoscope.

Esophageal Dilatation

Widening of the esophagus using balloons or dilators to treat strictures or narrowing.

Endoscopic SEMS (Self Expandable Metallic Stent) Stenting

Placement of a metallic stent to relieve obstruction in the gastrointestinal tract, such as in the esophagus or bile duct.

Glue Injection In Gastric Varices

Injection of medical glue into bleeding gastric varices to stop the bleeding and prevent rebleeding.

Hemoclip Application In GI Bleed

Placement of hemoclips on bleeding blood vessels or ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract to stop bleeding.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

Examination of the rectum and sigmoid colon using a flexible endoscope to diagnose conditions such as polyps or cancer.

Colonoscopy

Visual examination of the entire colon and rectum using a colonoscope to screen for colorectal cancer, polyps, or other abnormalities.

PolyPectomy

Removal of polyps or abnormal tissue from the colon or rectum during a colonoscopy.

ERCP

Diagnostic and therapeutic procedure to examine the bile ducts, pancreatic duct, and gallbladder using an endoscope and contrast dye.

EUS

A procedure combining endoscopy and ultrasound to visualize the gastrointestinal tract and nearby structures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Liver Biopsy

Removal of a small sample of liver tissue for examination under a microscope to diagnose liver diseases.

Capsule Endoscopy

Swallowing a pill-sized camera to capture images of the digestive tract, particularly the small intestine, for diagnostic purposes.

Double Balloon Enteroscopy

Examination and treatment of the small intestine using a specialized endoscope with two balloons to aid in visualization and access to deeper parts of the small intestine.
